The Forgotten Military Is Story Of Azad Hind Fauj Via The Eyes Of The Soldiers After the warfare ended, the story of the INA and the Indian Legion was seen as so inflammatory that, fearing mass revolts and uprisings throughout its empire, the British Government forbade the BBC from broadcasting their story. The use of Indian troops for the restoration of Dutch and French rule in Vietnam and Indonesia fed into the already rising resentment throughout the forces. Indian troops despatched to suppress Sukarno's agitations in Indonesia in 1946 quickly recognized with the nationalist sentiments within the previous Dutch colony. The South East Asia Command reported growing sympathy for the INA and dislike of the Dutch.
